Voices, voices everywhere. Yes, we are enamored that anyone can have a voice, but not everyone wants to listen. I know people who have set up web pages and blogs and written nothing else. Started a LinkedIn group and don’t participate. This is like the invention of the printing press, newspaper, shortwave radio, etc. it’s new and the field is wide open. There are no established Blogs and many voices can be heard. Some people have something to say, but most just want to say something. Squidoo reminds me of shortwave radio programming. Some strange man sitting in his basement, beard and teeth stained from tobacco ranting about ‘Lionel “O” gauge train owners being ‘sell outs’, or Yoko breaking up the band. Now we sit with grey/green/blue glow on our faces. But this is no paradigm shift…merely a new medium. We need to focus on content and not just structure. Not just saying something, but rather saying something true. We must look for places that have a point of view and join them. If we, as the voices, do not determine what is relevant- I fear advertising dollars will once again decide who is relevant, who should be read or watched. Such has been the history of every other medium. The one that Celebrity endorses or the one with glitz and attention will become seen, talked about and therefore relevant. The lowest common denominator will once again dominate. Sponsored Blogs.
Let us be authors and not architects. Let us give them rooms of content to explore…interiors and not just exterior structures. There is only one exterior, but many rooms.

Right on Calley! And by the way, I too stumbled upon whitehouse in a very similar way — actually, I had a teacher accidentally send the class to it. And I want to say I think you’re up to some great things out there, keep it up! Reading your blog posts is great, not only is the content intriguing, but the writing is excellent and engrossing too.

Vivienne: it’s so blatantly obvious there is some sort of unfounded jealousy going on here. So, the rest of us should most definitely ignore it.

As far as the reason for the post goes - you are definitely sexy Calley, in all stretches of the word.
