Today’s shower thought was around a comment I heard the other day:
“There aren’t that many female entrepreneurs”.
I think this statement is absolutely false. There are so many businesses out there created by women. Maybe not tech + online web 2.0 companies, but they exist.
Also, I don’t know that being entrepreneurial means starting a company. I’ve seen many people within companies be entrepreneurial. People who create new ways of doing things both through product or operational process count! So, I think there are more of them out there than you think.

I’m with you. I think it’s far more powerful and useful to think of the word “entrepreneur” in a more expansive way to include those who are busy creating in other ways outside of heading up major Silicon Valley companies. Besides, who’s saying this and what pool are they looking at? One glance at the results of micro-loans and micro-economic programs in Africa and other developing areas and you KNOW without a doubt that if someone isn’t seeing women entrepreneurs, it might just be that they need to change their glasses.
Oh. Wow. You just made me think of something.
I saw the most amazing glasses last week. I need to go find them on Google and do a whole post about them. It totally has to do with entrepreneurs, Africa and glasses. Stay tuned.
What a teaser! Usually I just generally can’t wait for you to post. Now I am specifically impatient!
Hahaha! Well, I’m searching all over the place for some mention of these glasses on the int0rnet and not having luck. I want something to link to or explain how these things technically work.
