If only Henry knew back then how popular he’d be today. He’s all the rage. He’s right up there with Tom Cruise, Michael Arrington and Brad Pitt.
I just started watching The Tudors on Showtime, because their version of Henry is hot, hot, hot. Yes, three hots. I wonder what the sexy geek version of his time was? What did they look like? Were they sexy geeks in tights?
Henry’s not just hot with the ladies, but his torrid love affairs with Ann and Mary Boleyn are now out on display for the men as well in a movie about the Boleyn sisters who wooed him and won his affections. His affections came with a cost though, because Mary’s head came off in the end. According to the Tudors, Henry and Ann were very much in love and according to the movie “Other Boleyn Girl” it was all a plot put together by the Boleyn family to rise up in the majestic ranks. A plot that put nearly everyone to death but Elizabeth, the successor to the throne.
I must admit, I’m happy that I’m not alive during his era and that I wasn’t wed off to a Duke or a farmer for the social status of my family. Having choice and freedom is a valuable and wonderful thing.
