Not to be confused with Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy, but in a similar vein, and less funny. I could only dream of being that funny. If they sold Jack Handy funniness in a bottle, I’d be the number one consumer. I’d have shelves of that stuff everywhere.
So, what are Shower Thoughts? Well, simply thoughts I have in the shower. That’s where I get most of my uninterrupted thinking time and I come up with some funny stuff in there. If you don’t see a post, it isn’t because I’m running around stinky and haven’t had a shower, it is because I didn’t think of anything worth sharing. I promise!
This is actually yesterday’s Shower Thought.
I just started using Twitter about a month ago and at first I just didn’t get it. They must get that a lot. If you don’t have a persuasive group of friends, I could see signing up for Twitter and then abandoning the site with a shrug. Lucky for me and lucky for Twitter, I had a few “nudges” from my pals and off I went. Now, I’m a Twittering fool. So, in the shower, I was thinking about monetizing Twitter. Yes, I have a lot of thoughts like these. Go figure. I explored subscription models, taking a portion of the SMS fees and targeted advertising (ugh). In the end I didn’t come up with much, so once out of the shower, I Twittered that I didn’t get how they were going to make money and got a few fun responses mostly about uses by bands and events. The operational costs associated with Twitter must be huge. It looks like I’m not alone in the world trying to figure this out. A quick search on Google revealed many results. It looks like this is a hot topic and to Twitter’s credit, their fans are actually trying to figure this out for them. That’s pretty nifty.
My second thought in the shower was around one of my favorite passions in life - watching movies. I often like go to and see a movie with very large crowds and I buy blocks of tickets. I stopped doing this last year after the frustration of trying to nab 10-15 seats in a row and then going outside every two minutes to hand out tickets to let people in. Hong Kong and Japan have figured this problem out already and they have a system of assigned seating. Seeing a movie is no different than booking a flight. 2B and up you go! Whee! So, why haven’t we done this yet? What’s our malfunction? I’d even settle for a service by Fandango that lets you input your friend’s names and then they can swipe their credit card to retrieve their tickets. If Fandango can’t do that, I’d settle even further for the movie theater holding the tickets behind their counter.

I too think about Twitter in the shower.
Re: your second shower thought (that was posted here, anyway) — Looks like Sundance Kabuki is your answer in SF. They now have all assigned seating as of the new renovation. Mixed reviews on the food etc at Yelp, but the seats are, as you requested, yours when you order them! http://www.sundancecinemas.com/kabuki.html
